Mother arrested for alleged theft of son's ashes

A Bridgeport, Connecticut, woman appeared in court for her arraignment after being accused of stealing an urn containing her dead son's ashes. The 21-year-old woman and the boy's father allegedly took the ashes from the Luz de Paz funeral home. Authorities say the theft was captured on surveillance video. The 8-month-old child reportedly died in Puerto Rico but was transported to Connecticut for cremation.

Connecticut man enters plea under Alford Doctrine

A 38-year-old Connecticut man accused of one of the highest value watch thefts in American history brought the case to a close after he entered a guilty plea on July 8. The man pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and will be sentenced to six years in prison on Sept. 19. The 38-year-old was accused of stealing watches from Victorinox Swiss Army, valued in excess of $1 million.

Connecticut man arrested on domestic violence allegations

A recent arrest in Bridgeport brought a man from West Haven, Connecticut, into custody. Police were apparently looking for him in connection with an incident of domestic violence. They say that he attacked a victim multiple times. The man is 37 years old, but the age of the victim was not released.

Connecticut man pleads innocent to weapons charges

A Connecticut man entered an innocent plea on June 19 to charges of carrying a loaded handgun without a license, assault with a handgun, possession of a double-edged knife and unlicensed possession of a handgun. The charges stemmed from a March 23 incident in which he allegedly pointed the gun at another driver on Interstate 91.
